Are these females of the Yellow dung fly Scathophaga stercoraria? Or are the legs too grey? Males are easy to identify, but the females are less distinctive to me (unless paired up!).

Well, these are males of
Scathophaga stercoraria (this species is quite variable on colour and hairiness).

OK, thanks again. So right species, wrong sex. I had no idea the males could be so grey. All the ones I have photographed mating have been very yellow.
