Brussels 13/08/2006, about 8mm length.
Is this a Oxycera leonina?

Looks like it.
There are, however, several similar species.
Let's wait for an expert

AFAIK only leonina has the abdominal pattern of yellow basal and apical spots. All the other visible characters of this specimen fit leonina as well.

This time (14/07/2007, Brussels) I saw one with the same size but without the yellow spots behind the eyes. is it a sex-difference in the Oxycera leonina-species or is it an other species?

The same species, first female, second male.
