Thread subject: Diptera.info :: help for id

Specimen found dead, probably not recently.
Is a subject which i had never seen.
These pictures are not exceptional, you can at least identify the family?

Yes, it is aStratiomyidae, a Chorisops

A genus represented by 5 species in Italy. Recently published article on Stratiomyidae of Sardinia may be interesting on this matter.

An old revision on Chorisops by Nagatomi (1964) with a key to two species only.

I can`t open it! I guess it gives description of C. tibialis and C. nagatomii. I have their descriptions.
