hello,

this 4mm nematocera is from today from a park in western germany. I don't even have an idea for the family. What is it?

Thanks,
Michael

Chironomidae,
it seems Chironominae, it that case it could be Tanytarsini (Tanytarsus are similar, at least T.pallidicornis) but I can't discard others, I stop at family, sorry.
Beatiful one :)

Thank you Paqui for your answer. I never got a Chironomidae to more than the family, but Tanytarsus pallidicornis looks indeed very similar.
