Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Sarcophaga carnaria? bubbling

Can I be sure this is Sarcophaga carnaria, which was bubbling away last autumn. Not the best angle for checking wing veins etc...

Sarcophaga is one of those cases where photos just aren't going to do it. I'm afraid - I've asked; and I think with females even a specimen won't help.

OK, many thanks. I feared as much... I've seen many online photos of flesh flies boldly declaring them to be S. carnaria (maybe the commonest one?), while other more cautious posters just say Sarcophaga sp. and I guess I should follow that line from what you're saying.
