Can this Anthomyiid be determined? Is this a male or a female?

It is difficult to identify Leucophora spp. from a photograph. It is also difficult to say which sex, because the females have in some species very similar frons width, and also females have rather tapering abdomens.

This looks like L. obtusa female, the darker stripes on the thorax suggest this. A definite det would need examination of the specimen

Thx Michael. I also thought this is a female, because the abdomen is relatively large. Unfortunately this is the only L. sp that I have ever seen in Hungary.
