It is Bibio but not marci, in which both genders are black. Maybe B. hortulanus. Others will correct me.

I agree with Gabor but
B.hortulanus is just a 'best guess' and your region is likely to have more species than I am used to here. Really we need Theo Zeegers to comment :)
Can you give some indication of size perhaps?
Bibio spp. like
marci and
hortulanus tend to be larger than species like
johannis etc. :)

Hmm. I doubt it was larger than 7-8 mm. To my knowledge Bibio marci is by far the biggest Bibio in our region so and that one is hardly larger than 10 mm.

I don't have the experience to approximate the correct size....this spring i will try to catch a few specimens and i will photograph them to see what species is it.
