I'd like to ask what a subgenital plate in this family looks like. Is it the V or U-shaped plate? Is this a Psychoda? It was in a weekend house. Thanks in advance!

This is another specimen, I think the same species:

Also the 2nd specimen:

That shape of subgenital plate suggests Psychoda (Tinearia) alternata, <strike>but it can't be that species because of the differently shaped antennal tip and the presence of ascoids.</strike>

Edit: Phil is of course right. For some unknown reason I remembered the ascoid reduction to be much more pronounced than it really is. The antennal tip I don't know why I didn't identify. I apologise if my confusion got to reproduce.

Absolute nonsense: this is a typical alternata subgenital plate and the antennal tip is also exactly as expected.

I should also have clarified that it is the V-shaped structure which is the subgenital plate: hope that helps.
