Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Anthomyiidae-Delia?

On wood in the early spring sun
It keys out as Delia radicum or closely related species,
but with some questions.

Midtibia
One ad setae on mid tibia?
(Or just a larger setula in the row?)

I don't see an ad on midtibia and fore tibia, no small proclinate orbital below ocelli , long haired between dorco centrals and antennae very short.....
I would say Egle species.
Species bit difficult because it seems to have 3 dc and not 4 dc, and i am not familiar with all those other species :)

At least i now know where to look for the notopleurals, and there seem to be no hairs in addition to them. This means => no D. radicum-group. The lack of an ad on mid tibia leads to an dead and at this point in the key, so i might have struggled with the wrong group of flies in the first place - as you suggested allready:@:)

It could be an Egle (right time of year). But mouth margin does not seem to be very projecting. Perhaps angle of view distorts this. My main suggestion is Egle rhinotmeta Ringdahl, because the last photo shows some very long ventral bristles on the hind femur both ad and pd. This is a characteristic of rhinotmeta, also the lack of an ad on mid tibia.
