Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Pale 2mm Drosophilidae

Hello :)
I found this on a rotting Arisaema tuber which had earlier had some white fungus-like growths around the top on the surface.
Approx. 2mm long, date 29th November.
Location, a few miles south of Lincoln UK.
Any help appreciated. 2 pics but I have more.

Oh not a Drosophilidae,:P they seem as bad as Lauxaniidae to get an ID.
Hoping Paul does some mulling...;)

Freshly emerged, difficult to say anything about it. Perhaps if you kept the specimen...?

I think it is not belongs to Lauxaniidae according to its sparse antennal arista and vibrasse on mouth margin. :)

there are lauxaniids with vibrissae.. also with some long rays in arista...

True, but I have never seen a Lauxanid with a "forked" arista. As far as I can see the fly on the photo has this typical fork
