Fore femur infuscated and 2+2 katepisternals....
But not visible if arista is long haired and acrostichals also not visible.....
Photo was taken on 6 dec. and some Hylemya species could be overwintering in stables..
Hylemya (nigrimana)........for now :D

Thanks Joke :)
These were taken about 45 minutes earlier in the same place, but I don't know if it's the same species. We have no stables, but there's a convenient public toilet nearby, and the sun was shining!

Pffff....arista long haired!
Also calypter about same lenght+acrostichals close together (without little hairs between them)
If scutellum also is bare in middle....than i am almost sure it is Hylemya cf.nigrimana (very simular is H.vagans and i don't know for sure if H.vagans female could have also fore femur infuscated, but i thought not..)
Hylemya species can be attractive to cow / hors dung and also human feces:(.....so public toilet could fit.
Joke :)

And they have kindly put some manure on the flower beds too - it's a paradise here in Clitheroe :D Send us your dispossessed and your anthomyiids...
Many thanks Joke for the benefits of your hours of study. I'm sure you realise it doesn't end here :D:D
