Thread subject: Diptera.info :: What is happening here?

I came across these flies hovering in mid-air. I only had time for a couple of shots before they flew away. It all happened so fast, I can't say what the exact size of the flies were but only that they were very small. I don't know what species they are and I am also not sure if they are mating or if the one is flying around holding a dead fly. Can someone maybe help with an ID and the behaviour?

Hi Roger. Thank you very much for the ID and clearing up the behaviour. I would like to add it to the gallery but don't know how to do it.:)

vida: you have 'submit photo for gallery' to the left. But as I know will appear in galery only with prior admin approwal.

More observant members will have noticed that this image has been already been accepted into the Gallery, (See; Latest Photo Additions).
I sent a PM with instructions to Vida. Seems to have worked.
