An unknown fly by me, captured at Ethiopia, Adis Ababa 2350m on 3 Oct. 1996.

Sciomyzidae, Sepedon or a related genus (like Sepedonea).

BTW: Dunno of that latter genus occurs in Ethiopia, but just to give an idea.
