Hello,
this 9mm fly is from august from near Neuss in germany. Is it a scatophagidae? In the gallery the genus Cordilura seemed most similar to me. What is it?
Thanks,
Michael

Noone?
Is at least the family Scatophagidae correct?
Thanks,
Michael

Scathophagidae is correct, and Cordilura seems correct too.

Hello Lars,
thank you for your answer. I overlooke the Cordilura posted so far, and found
http://www.dipter...d_id=23183. As far as I read, C. ciliata seems to be a rather common species in wetlands. So I think I will save the picture as Cordilura cf. ciliata.
Greetings,
Michael
