Thread subject: Diptera.info :: dark muscid? with golden face

Hello, also this fly i saw 2 days ago close to Rotterdam.
I guess it is a muscidae. Can anybody confirm or Id my fly?

Polietes sp. I think. Perhaps P. lardarius.

Lars and Stephane, thanks a lot, it's a female Polietes lardarius cf meridionalis? I am almost shure!

Eh eh, Polietes lardarius cf. meridionalis would solve any problem ! It is either P. lardarius or P. meridionalis, 2 distinct species (though they are not so distinct in reality) ! The golden face speaks for P. meridionalis, but it is necessary to see the colour of the anterior spiracle to be (more) sure.
