Hello to all!
It took me some patience to get some decent pictures of this beautiful monster fly, but in the end it worked. It was about 12-15mm long. Does anyone know more about it?

19.8.2009, Ecuador, Prov. Tungurahua, Baņos, near Bellavista, about 1900m asl

Superb! :D Again, I can't give you a name but it looks like a wonderful fly. Did you get any specimens while you were there? ;)

I'm sorry, Chris, but I'm not collecting but pictures and, slowly starting, Tabanids (this question is coming frequently). The only specimens I took with me are 2 Tabanids (coming soon, but far less attractive than these Tachinids, of course).
