Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Platypezidae: Protoclythia modesta female? (07.10.09) --> confirmed

Hi!

On the same plant and at the same time in our garden (northwest Germany) as Protoclythia rufa there was also this female Platypezidae of a different species. It resembles Protoclythia modesta in the gallery. Correct? About 4-5 mm.

Yes, it is Protoclythia modesta. Very similar is female of Platypeza consobrina, but has only 3 black triangels on abdomen and flattened hind legs.
