Can anyone help me with an ID for this beastie, photographed recently on Ithaka?? After a frustrating half an hour trying to upload a picture of said beastie, would someone kindly furnish me with an idiot proof method of attaching photos to messages ( sorry to be such a computer dummy)

I now see that the photo attaches, but does not show up in the preview - double-dummy!!:o

Looks like Bombyliidae
Exoprosopa jacchus in the Gallery...don't know if it is though...wait for some of the experts to give a determination.

Hi Roger and thanks for the suggestion. It certainly loks right in all the pix of jacchus that I cn find. Maybe one of the Dip 'aces' would be kind enough to confirm?

Change the title to bee fly and DAvid Gibbs will tune in at some point.
