Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Scatophaga with prey and a Muscid (08.09.09)

Hi!

Two scenes from a leaf at a hegde three days ago (northwest Germany). Can the Scatophaga (8-9 mm) be identified (S. furcata?)? And what about the prey and the "visiting" Muscid (Hydrotaea?) on the second picture?

Murderer is Mr. Scathophaga sp.
Victim is Mr. Fannia sp.
Witness is Mr. Hydrotaea sp. (unless it is the accomplice).
