Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Syrphid Flies from malaysia

was shoot this in a garden which side by side to the lime stone cave :)
I have no idea about what is this, but should be type of Syrphid Fly, right?

Yes, indeed a Syrphid. This is a Graptomyza sp.
Maybe I can come up with a species name later.

Fantastic ... truly a flying jewel!
I found a pic of Graptomyza dolichocera Kertesz, 1914 on the web that looks very similar.

Very nice pic of a very nice fly... It is surely a Graptomyza, but there are many undescribed species and the described once are not well revised in the Oriental region... so I would not be to sure about the species identification..

This is the type of the genus, Graptomyza longirostris Wiedemann, 1820. Absolutely beautiful shot!
