hi flyforum,

I tried to find a solid answer for this fly, but I can't find it's id.
Even with help from Joke..

obvious are the blackish legs, the spotted abdomen, the plumosa arista, the not-coloured scutellum and first antenne parts.
I see some some blue-ish shining on the scutellum.
The crossveins are not impressive darkened, perhabs a little bit..

After long watching I was thinking of Mydaea ancilla, male.
I'll put some detais and pictureviews with it.

Joke is thinking of P. cincta or P. serva.

place: Amsterdam forest, wet and shadowed forest

greeting Robert,

thank you Stephane,

Corresponding with Joke, see spoke already about P. gobertii ;)

I have to translate the following terms: long pra, prst acr

long pra; Long pre acro's?
prst acr; pre sutural acrostichals

Sorry but I am just a pda (pre-diptera-amateur)

EDIT: Joke told me: long pra = long pre-alar (lange pre-alar haar) B)

Nice species, I've never seen them in the forest.

It was sitting on bark far above my head so I had to stand on the bridge-railing to take pictures of it.. Nobody took a picture of myself but I am sure this was a good picture for the ''Portraits of amateur/professional dipterologists-forum''

I thought it was a scarce Phaonia before I found 3 males and a female this year.
