...Possibly brought in with some herbs for the guinea pigs... B) About 5 mm, northwest Germany. What could it be?

Nemorilla floralis based on my limited knowledge; looks very similar to ones I've seen and the triangular arrangement of humeral bristles is, I think, a good indicator.

Yup - the triangle of humeral bristles are very distinctive of only a few tachinids -
Nemorilla being the commonest :)
If it just has white hairs behind the head then that should confirm it, I think.
