Hi Jaakko.
Thank you very much!
P. aurulans was observed in Denmark for the first time 2 years ago, so i´m a little excited.

Hi Ruth
Are you sure the new one is not aurigera ?
That is a different species

Hi Theo.
I would be very surpriced, if it is P. aurigera. For the third summer I´ve aurigera in my garden, I´m familiar with them, and this one was different: The golden dust om the thorax , brown markings in the wings - and look like the pictures of aurulans in the gallery.
I put a picture of a male aurigera from august 22 for comparison.

Ah, a misunderstanding.
The picture is aurulans, no doubt.
I just wondered if you mixed up aurulans with aurigera as new arrivals, because aurigera has only been around for 3-4 years max. in Denmark, I guess.
Apparently both are new
By the way: aurulans was always present in Sweden, I believe. Aurigera was not.

Fine, thanks, now it makes sense for me. Aurulans was first described in Denmark august 2007 and aurigera september 2007.
And you are right, it is easy to mix up the names.
