Hello,
I photographed this ~7mm fly in july near a small water near Cologne. In the gallery I found Beris vallata which seems to fit rather well. Is this correct? Or are there similar species?
Thanks,
Michael

Yellow abdomen, hind tibia half black distally =
vallata, in Britain at least; I don't know about Germany.

Early orange-abdomened
Beris tend to
clavipes, later ones tend to be
vallata, so that would also fit.
