I found this very small Tachinidae (4mm) in my garden yesterday.
is it possible to identifie it ?

If this is 4 mm., what kind of pin do you use ?
Better to use micropins for these small flies.
It is a male of Meigenia, given the size it should be mutabilis

I don't have micropins so I use a dressmaking pin of my wife :)

Invest in some insect pins from somewhere like EntoSphinx - they are cheap and much better for the job ;)

The dressmaking pins will corrode in due time, after which your material is lost for science.
