It's probably 'just' relictus, but I think the abdomen looked a little different and the fly is overall darker than the usual ones.

Norway, 09.08.09

There are supposed to be 7 species registered in Norway

C. caecutiens
C. divaricatus
C. nigripes
C. relictus
C. rufipes
C. sepulchralis
C. viduatus

According my opinion, your ID is correct. Relictus is very variable species. Libor

The tibiae are reddish, so that eliminates divaricatus.

Relictus it is.
