Can I confirm this is a
Cistogaster globosa female - seems a distinctive species. One nectaring on carrot at Stanford-le-hope marshes, Essex (TQ692812) on 31st July.
Many thanks,
Tristan

Many thanks Chris,
I see this is a specific parasitoid of
Aelia acuminata, the Bishop's Mitre. I find this shieldbug very commonly in dry grassland across the SE and beyond, but this is the first time I have ever seen
Cistogaster. Is there much evidence it is becoming commoner?
Cheers
Tristan

Yes, definitely - we have been receiving more records every year for it in new localities in the south of England. I am a little out of touch with the mapping but I am sure it has now been found in pretty much every county in the south east - from Oxfordshire south and east :)
