Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Large Chironomidae (F)

Found this large one (<12mm) this morning at work.
Any idea of genus??

That's nice - it's usually the small ones that are so clearly marked. Can we have a picture of a male now, please?;)

Sorry I missed this reply Tony....been practising my Waffling skills with Jorge....He's pretty useful at it too ;). Think I'll invite him into the WGC Mk.2 B).

I'm off work for three weeks and will be giving it a wide berth till then, so will look for a Male then.
So Females are no use for ID'ing ??? :| or was that a hint of irony I detected...don't know if that's the right word.
