According to my Checklist for Shetland, there is only one species of
Argyra recorded, which is
A.perplexa.

Dear Roger,
if the arista is practically apical and if the scape is pubescent dorsally, then I guess you indeed deal with A. perplexa.

A great word "if". Not being in possession of a camera/lense combination that can focus on the pubescent hair of the scape of an
Argyra from approx. 0.7metres, I think I might have to settle for
Argyra sp., otherwise the anal retentives among us might have a seizure, and we can't have that..can we ?
