Thread subject: Diptera.info :: small black Tachinid -> Leucostoma

Hi,
Yesterday I saw this small black fly on an inflorescence of wild carrot. First I thought of Phania funesta, but the wing venation does not match, as my fly has a distinct petiolus. This recalls either Phasia, which, however, has a different habitus, or Rhinophoridae, but Rhinophora lepida has not such big white calypters. Now I am at my wits' end. Help, please!
Many thanks, Sundew

come here to Viseu. I would guide you so you could see Leucostoma, lots of Siphona, lots and lots of Gymnosoma, Cylindromyia and other stuff like Chaetogena, Baumhaeuria, Therobia, etc etc :D

Fine - obviously it pays to take a closer look at every small black Tachinid! And Phasiinae is right, too, so wing venation led me in the right direction. - Can we get closer to a species name?

Yes and no.
Leucostoma cannot be IDed from picture.
Around Berlin, I'd expect only L. simplex.

So I'll put it in the gallery as Leucostoma cf. simplex. Many thanks to all of you!
