Hello
I found this fly near Frankfurt (Germany) on June 21st, 2009 in an overgrown area of a park. Size about 7 mm.
Can she determine anybody?
Best regards
Andreas

I think you are right.
in which case it can only be the male of L. stabulans (erect hairs and discals on tergites, long pulvilli)

Hello Jaakko, Hello Theo
The fly genus Lydella was till now completely unknown to me. I could not find much information at my enquiries to her. However, Lydella stabulans seems to put her eggs down to moth caterpillars, among other things to European Corn borer (Ostrinia nubilalis).
Regards
Andreas
