I saw this fly-13mm in size- today in the garden in Lower Austria.

Conopidae...Wing colouration matches
Physocephala sp in the gallery....but I'm definately no expert.

No. You have fallen in a ptifall. :D
This is Syrphidae. Ceriana! :D
maybe the C. cf. vespiformis.

Ceriana conopsoides, scutellum is bicoloured. In C. vespiformis it is solely yellow.

yes, that's it caliprobola. That's why I was not sure about the species.
And it is *pitfall* not ptifall. :D
