Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Scathophagidae - Cordilura ciliata?

I expected this to match an apparent Cordilura ciliata I posted a week or two back - http://www.dipter...ost_100689 - id. suggested by Stephane Lebrun. However I do notice one difference (apart from the fact that this is apparently a male) in the long pale hairs ventrally on at least the front and mid femurs - the last had no obvious pale hairs, just long dark bristles. Is this an optical illusion/camera effect, is it a sex-related difference or have I got two different species?

Thanks

Tim
