Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Iridescent blue fly - ID?

Hi folks, I found this nice looking fly on a rotting tree trunks. About 1cm in length excluding the antennae and wings. Location: Malaysia.

Is it a soldier fly?

wowzers!!! I'm pretty sure this is a Stratuiomyidae but one I have never seen!
