Thank You Valery. Are these at all possible to id or is there something going on with this genus ? I thought cylindrica would be the only possibility :|

Dear Jari,

I have overlooked this your last re one year ago. In fact, cylindrica remains an extremely complicated heap of host-plant races, subspecies and cryptic species without any good approaches to solve. I am not sure that the flies on Centaurea and Cirsium are not different species. That is why I prefer to consider them as an "aggr."[egation], until somebody, perhaps Severin, finds a way to fix it all...
