Hi, is there
Drosophilidae with this kind of wing pattern ? I really can't figure anything else with those very long hairs on arista. June 29.2009 Loviisa, Finland.

Thank You Paul. This seems to so called "better one" again. In our database is only one photographed specimen from 2007 but this may be the first one collected. (If Kahis has not been faster again :|)

Hi.
To my best knowledge this is the 2nd record of this small, but unmistakable critter. Well done (once again) Jari. All these finds - amazing, just amazing :D

Actually your find was the 3rd locality from Finland - this was among the yet unpublished material from Ab: Ruissalo (2008). The first was from Lappeenranta, near the Russian border. An expansive species this seems to be.

Yes it indeed seems to be an expansive species. In the Netherlands it was first recorded after a male specimen collected in 2002. In the meantime I have seen many hundreds of this species from the Netherlands.
