Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Chrysotus sp., Dolichopodidae

Hi, I put these two pictures knowing that ID in species level is just a dream. After two days the flies are dry and far from attractive, so I take pictures from "fresh" specimens now. I have not solved the problem how to keep the shape ok with these (and some Lauxaniidae etc.). Maybe the genus will be clear and I can go further during the winter. June 28.2009 Loviisa, Finland.

Chrysotus cilipes Meigen, 1824 is the most probable species for Finland.

Thank You Igor. I have several of these and shall use Your key when I go home again. Maybe I should rename this as cd cilipes before the re-check or ..?
