Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Anthomyiidae: Pegomya? (13.06.09) --> Phaonia pallida (Muscidae)

Hello!

Are these two flies (6-7 mm) both Pegomya (cf. testacea?) males? From a forest border, northwest Germany.

No it is a male Phaonia pallida (eyes strongly hairy and 4 postsut. dc don't match for Pegomya).

Thank you, Stephane! I suspected P. pallida at first, too, which usually appears around this time of the year in larger numbers here. But when comparing the big "hump" and small abdomen to the Pegomya testacea in the gallery I changed my mind... :|
