This one's got me puzzled. Small, about 5mm, in wet meadow/mature hedge. S Devon, England. Your help, as ever, would be much appreciated.

Neither.
Sarcophagidae.
the appendix to bend in vein M is a big clue.
Most likely Nyctia halterata (even Seguy mistook it for a Rhinophoridae, so you are in good company !)
