Nobody said me that it's impossible to identify bibionids by photo... so I continue trying it despite of the unresolved previous attempts.

Maybe the species with orange females are easier?

Yesterday. La Peņa, Huesca, NE Spain. Pre-pyrenees, 500 meters. Lots of them in the flowers of Euphorbia characias and Euphorbia serrata.

Female:

Male:

Could be ID to species level?

Thanks,
Isidro

If it was flying here I would say Bibio anglicus, because they have very orange females ... but not sure if you have it in the south of Europe :)

Maybe Bibio hortulanus, they are common pests in Hungary.

Thanks, I thinked in hortulanus due to the orange female... but can be mistakable species?

Both species have orange females, the wing venation is different. This is hortulanus.
