Hello!
Compared to the
Dilophus febrilis I know, this female was very large, about 8 mm. Different species? Found on May-04 at our house (northwest Germany).

Did you really measure it ? It must have been less.
Anyway, it is the female of Dilophus febrilis.

I did not measure it, but it was really much larger than other individuals also at other parts of the wall at the same time. Below one, I estimated about 5 mm.
Anyway, it is the female of Dilophus febrilis.

Actually, there is a 'giant'
Dilophus febrilis female sitting on the window right in front of me, and that certainly measures at least 8 mm. Including the antennae it would be more...
