Hi, this beauty came from
Salix yesterday. Myopa maybe? If so then maybe vicaria ? May 1.2009 Helsinki, Finland.

It is Myopa and vicaria would be my suggestion.
But wait for the real expert Jens-Hermann Stuke

Hi, I finally found my key and believe this is indeed vicaria with long black hairs on face, brown palpi and dark triangular spots on T2.

femora and tibiae have dense black hairs, wings with clouded patches. Halteres are yellowish, first segment of abdomen is almost entirely black. All abdomen with very long black hairs. Pleura with some dark patches. So I agree with Myopa vicaria.
For final confirmation as Theo told, wait for JH Stuke.
And, please submit this to the gallery.

Yea, it is M. vicaria. Look at the typical wing coloration that fits to the polystigma group and not to the testacea group. The two other possible species (polystigma, tessellatipennis) have different black spots. And of course the long dense black hairs are typically, too.
