hi Flyforum,

This afternoon I collected some flies of Bibio sp.
First I thought it was Bibio leucopterus, but the stigma in the wing isn't braun and it is quite sharp?

I can see some red spines at the third leg (tibia).

When I have more time I will make detailed pictures of the spines of leg I.

Within this image, is there a Bibio species that fits?

Thank you for your reaction.

I have made the conclussion that the bibio sp. on my pictures are male B. marci.
The fly is about 1cm, that fit's also with the dark forewing and the spines on tibia I.

Another fly with I collected together with these flies is obviously smaller and got just one darkbraunish spot in the wing! And what also is different, are the spines on tibia I
This must be L. leucopterus!

The B. leucopterus got spines which are equal in size (tibI).

To end this ''lost way'', I put two pictures of the B. leucopterus fly.
The size of this fly is also obviously smaller.

I'm having second thoughts. The spines are much too unequal, unless the angle of view is playing tricks.
So you might be right with your original doubt.
Need to check my collection.
