Ernestia may be common, but not too... I didn't see it anyway! But I saw another Tachinid, and a big one: Calliphora-sized. Amsterdamse bos, in herb layer. Close to main road, so not haute nature....

Only three species of
Phorocera listed in the Netherlands. This one is not obscura. Remaining options:
assimilis or
grandis. Is it possible to decide between those?

Yes,
Grandis is very rare in the dunes later in May
So this must be assimilis (common).
