Theo Zeegers mentioned some days ago the red-tipped scutellum 'diagnostic'? for some species(group), but i can't find it back.
I am not sure if there is an appendix on the bent of the medial vein.

Well, there are many Tachinidae with red tipped scutellum, I referred to the extension and vividness of the red colouration (it was Bothria subalpina).
This, however, is Smidtia conspersa, see other recent thread.
