Hi
This Empid which I believe is Rhamphomyia sp. was reared from a larva found under bark on spruce log 23. February in mixed forest on the island of Amager close to Copenhagen, Denmark. On the 31. March it emerged.
Is it possible to determine the species? I myself get stuck around Pararhamphomyia...
Specimen was needless to say collected.
Three pictures: live animal, genitalia and whole specimen.

Thank you, Paul!
Then it was
Pararhamphomyia after all.
Apparently there aren't many pictures of the male - for obvious reasons the female being much conspicuous.
I'll submit a photo for the Gallery :)
I have photos of both the larva and the empty pupa. Regrettably I missed out on the pupa when it was still "inhabited".
