Hi, I have hundreds of pinned Muscidae and Anthomyiidae waiting fo ID. I try little by little get some touch with them, so I will send here maybe too many pictures. If so, please let me know ok ? I think this could be a member of Phaonia :| 9.5.2008 Helsinki, Finland.

No, Joke, Phaonia is correct, one of the group with proturding mouthedge and long proboscis.
My vote rather for Ph.alpicola than Ph.serva, but it isn't ID, but rather advice to Jari what he should check first.

Ok, I must go on with my Muscidae detective job :) Some Phaonia alpicola has been found only from the very Northest part of Finland. Phaonia serva should have 1-3 presutural ac; this one has not. I tried to follow my key and ended to a wild quess :| How abouth Phaonia consobrina ?

Jari, I think I can see 1 pair of prst ac, badly visible on black background. Are you sure it hasn't?

Sorry to have been so long to reply (a hard drive problem ).
It's really more difficult than I expected. I'd need the specimen for this one...
