Hello,

I know that the photo is really not good. But perhaps it is possible to identify the family?

There were a lot of those ~3mm long flies two or three weeks ago in the compost in my garden near Cologne.

Thanks,
Michael

I would bet it's Scaptomyza (Drosophilidae) again...

Hello Jürgen,

I wouldn't bet against you. I also looked at the Drosophilidae, because the flies were very interested in kitchen garbage. But somehow I overlooked Scaptomyza.

Thank you for your answer,
Michael
