Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Anthomyiidae - Egle sp. ?

hi flyforum,

This early spring Anthomyiidae looks Egle ciliata to me.
size: ~4mm

Is Egle ciliata correct?

Not ciliata Robert- not hairy enough and as far as I can see, only 3 post dc setae. It's a female and so impossible to identify from a photo.

Is it still an Egle sp.? or perhabs some other Anthomyiidae sp.?

It is an Egle sp. The smaller species are difficult to identify even with a specimen, need to look at small characters and even dissect the ovipositor.
