This Tabanid (Tabanus sp?) was observed in a desert-like sandy environment in Hungary.

Just a male bromius or something more interesting?

Another shot.

I have never before observed a T. bromius or a T sp. on a flower.

All seem interesteing.
The last one definitely has 2 bands on each eye, so it must be a more banded species like glaucopis, lunatus, .....?
Since I can see only little of the abdomen and none of the subcallus, it remains speculation.
